We are seeking a Low?Voltage Systems Engineer to generate engineering drawings and specifications for low?voltage telecommunications, security, and audio?visual systems for a variety of construction projects. Project types include multiple building uses and system applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design low?voltage systems and prepare engineering drawings and narratives for construction projects
Develop designs for:
Access control systems
CCTV systems
Intrusion detection systems
Copper and fiber optic structured cabling systems
Audio/visual systems
Plan and design secure facilities, including developing and reviewing protective design standards
Produce building design packages using Autodesk Revit
Generate project?specific construction specifications using CSI?based templates
Provide construction phase support, including:
Responding to RFIs
Reviewing submittals
Conducting field assessments
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizen
Minimum of 2 years of experience designing facility and low?voltage systems and documenting designs with drawings and narratives
Working knowledge of applicable telecommunications codes and standards
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET?accredited college or university preferred
Extensive experience in systems installation or maintaining computer networks or other technical systems may be considered in lieu of an engineering degree
Experience designing:
Access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems
Copper and fiber optic structured cabling systems
Audio/visual systems
Preferred Qualifications
Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (BICSI)
Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) in audio?visual systems design (AVIXA)
Experience estimating engineering effort for building design projects
