Job Summary
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Technicians to join our field installation teams. We are interested in candidates with hands-on experience in any one or more of the following areas: structured cabling, DDC/building automation systems (BAS), or access control/video surveillance. Candidates are not required to have experience in all three disciplines. Responsibilities will be matched to each technician’s experience, skill level, and project assignment.
Experience Paths — Experience in Any One Area Is Welcome
- Structured Cabling: Experience pulling, routing, terminating, labeling, and testing CAT5e/CAT6 and other low-voltage cabling.
- DDC / BAS Controls: Experience with building automation or HVAC controls cabling, field devices, control panels, and related low-voltage installation.
- Access Control / Video Surveillance: Experience installing access control cabling and devices such as card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, locking hardware, and/or video surveillance cameras, including camera aiming, focusing, and field-of-view (FOV) adjustment.
- Cross-training is encouraged, but experience in all three areas is not required.
Key Responsibilities — Depending on Experience and Project Assignment
- Install, route, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling, including CAT5e, CAT6, shielded twisted pair, and other structured or controls cabling as assigned
- Install and terminate access control cabling for card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, and locking hardware
- Install card readers, door contacts, and associated access control field devices and assist with installation/connection of electric locking hardware
- Install video surveillance cameras, including mounting, cabling, termination, and device labeling
- Aim and focus cameras to achieve the required field of view (FOV) and verify proper coverage
- Read and interpret construction drawings, cable schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Label and organize cabling according to industry and company standards
- Work safely on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces as needed
- Communicate with project managers, foremen, and other team members to ensure project completion
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in cabling, electrical, or low-voltage system installation
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and cable testers
- Comfortable working on construction sites and lifting 50+ lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- OSHA 10/30 certification
- Scissor lift or aerial lift certification
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Preferred Experience — Any One of the Following
- Structured Cabling
- 1+ years installing, routing, terminating, labeling, and testing CAT5e/CAT6 or similar low-voltage cabling in commercial or industrial environments
- DDC / Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- 1+ years of DDC, HVAC controls, or BAS installation experience; familiarity with control wiring, field devices, BACnet, Modbus, or similar systems is a plus
- Access Control / Video Surveillance
- 1+ years installing access control and/or video surveillance systems, including card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, access control cabling, electric locking hardware, cameras, and camera FOV adjustment
- Candidates may qualify through experience in any one of these areas. Multi-discipline experience is a plus, not a requirement.
