About the role! The technician will work independently and with other installers, in the completion of installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer education of Audio, Video, Networking, and Control Systems. Responsible for the timely completion of the daily tasks and paperwork that they are assigned. The technician is also responsible for inspecting and maintaining their assigned vehicle and managing vehicle inventory.
Requirements:
- Requires a minimum of 2 years of programming in various residential AV and Control systems like URC, Elan, Control4, and Savant or commercial AV and Control systems like Q-SYS, Extron, Crestron, and AMX. Experience with DSP systems such as dbx, AtlasIED, and AHM is a plus.
- Must have experience with Q-SYS.
- Requires a minimum of 2 years of IP Networking experience. Preferably with a focus on AVoIP. Dante experience is a plus.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated, task-oriented, and able to apply “best practices” theory.
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment in the installation of Audio and Video Distribution and Control Systems, Networking Equipment, Structured Cabling, Surveillance Camera Systems, Digital Signage, Access Control Systems, Low-Voltage Lighting, and Motorized Shades in Residential and Commercial settings.
- Program Residential Control Systems. (URC, Elan, etc.)
- Program Commercial AV and Control Systems and DSPs. (Q-SYS, AtlasIED, etc.)
- Configure networking equipment such as Wireless Access Points, Routers, and Managed Network Switches.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the equipment and systems listed above.
- Prewire homes and businesses for data and low voltage systems.
- Cat6, RG6, and Fiber termination.
- System commissioning and testing.
- End-user education and training.
- Inspect and maintain assigned company vehicle.
- Obtain required certifications and complete assigned training in a satisfactory and timely manner.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Adhere to OSHA Safety standards and practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs.
- Must be willing to work on ladders and at heights.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Requirements:
- Must possess a High School Diploma.
- Must possess a valid FL Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Must possess the hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, cable tester, etc.) necessary to perform the duties required in the job description.
- Must have at least 2 years of related AV and Control systems experience in a commercial or residential setting (with provable work history). Knowledge of URC and Elan is preferred but other systems may be considered.
- Must have at least 2 years of related networking experience (with provable work history).
- Must be able to work independently, as part of a team, or supervise others when required.
- Must be highly detailed, organized, and task-oriented.
- Must be available to work a rotating or emergency “on-call” schedule if needed. (may include weekends)
