About the Role
We're hiring Low Voltage Cabling Technicians for active commercial and mission-critical construction projects, including data center builds in the Central Texas corridor. You'll install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems as part of a dedicated crew, working alongside experienced leads on fast-paced, high-visibility job sites.
This is steady, long-duration project work not short gigs. If you show up, work safe, and produce clean installs, there's a clear path from Tech I to Tech II to Lead.
What You'll Do
- Pull, route, and dress Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A copper and fiber optic cabling per drawings and industry standards
- Terminate copper (jacks, patch panels, 66/110 blocks) and assist with fiber terminations and splicing
- Install cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, sleeves, and support structures
- Label, test, and certify cabling (Fluke or similar testers) and document results
- Rack and stack: install racks, cabinets, patch panels, and cable managers in MDF/IDF and data hall environments
- Read blueprints, T-series drawings, and cut sheets; follow scope from foreman/lead
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all site safety requirements
What You Bring
Tech I ($20 $25/hr):
- 1+ year of structured cabling or low voltage installation experience
- Ability to pull and dress cable cleanly, use hand tools, work from ladders/lifts
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass background check for site badging
Tech II ($26 $32/hr):
- 3+ years structured cabling experience, commercial or data center preferred
- Proficient terminating copper and fiber; comfortable with fusion splicing a plus
- Able to test/certify with Fluke DSX or similar and troubleshoot failures
- Can read prints and run a small scope with minimal supervision
Both levels:
- OSHA 10 (or willing to obtain we'll help)
- Able to lift 50 lbs, work on feet, and work at heights (ladders/scissor lifts)
- Dependable attendance data center sites track badging in/out
Nice to have: BICSI Installer 1/2 or Technician, manufacturer certs (CommScope, Corning, Panduit, Leviton), aerial/scissor lift certification, data center site experience, TS/security clearance eligibility.
