Central MEP Solutions is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician for a commercial union project in Washington, DC. This role is ideal for a mid-level technician with hands-on experience installing and servicing low voltage systems in commercial construction environments.
You will support the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of communication and security systems while ensuring all work meets union and safety standards.
Install and terminate low voltage cabling (Cat5/6, fiber optic, coaxial)
Install and service systems such as data, voice, CCTV, access control, and fire alarm
Mount and wire panels, devices, and equipment racks
Perform system testing and troubleshooting
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications
Ensure compliance with local codes, project requirements, and union agreements
Maintain a clean and organized job site
3–5 years of commercial low voltage experience
Experience working on union job sites required
Strong understanding of structured cabling standards and installation practices
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Experience with testing tools and troubleshooting systems
Reliable transportation to Washington, DC
