    Role Description The Lowboy Driver role is a full-time, on-site position located in Olympia, WA. The Lowboy Driver is responsible for safely loading, securing, and transporting heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and logging machinery to and from job sites. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, following all DOT and company safety regulations, maintaining accurate logs and documentation, and coordinating with dispatchers, equipment operators, and site supervisors. The role involves operating the lowboy truck and trailer in varying terrain and weather conditions, assisting with equipment placement as needed, and reporting any mechanical or safety issues promptly. The driver is expected to demonstrate punctuality, clear communication, and a strong commitment to safe driving and workplace safety.

    Qualifications

    • Valid CDL (Class A) license with a clean driving record and experience operating lowboy or similar heavy-haul equipment.
    • \n
    • Knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement practices, and safe operation of heavy equipment transport vehicles.
    • \n
    • Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections, basic maintenance checks, and accurately complete required logs and paperwork.
    • \n
    • Strong safety awareness, including adherence to company safety policies and proper use of PPE in construction and logging environments.
    • \n
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate schedules and movements with supervisors and crew members.
    • \n
    • Physical ability to climb onto equipment, handle chains and binders, and work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
    • \n
    • Previous experience in construction, logging, or heavy equipment transport is preferred.
    • \n
    • Reliable transportation to the Olympia, WA worksite and willingness to work flexible hours based on project needs.
