Salary Range: $20 to $25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Summary of Position:
The Lower School at Milton Academy seeks a full-time, benefits-eligible Administrative Assistant during the academic day beginning on August 24, 2026 and concluding December 1, 2026. The administrative assistant for the Lower School provides a welcoming environment and general assistance to students, faculty, and staff. The administrative assistant provides administrative support for the Junior Building Assistant Principal and general support for the faculty and staff who work in the Junior Building. Typical responsibilities include greeting guests, answering the telephone, using computers, coordinating and implementing mailings, copying, filing, and scheduling meetings and activities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for families and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional presence
Oversee daily office operations and perform a diverse range of administrative activities in a fast-paced office environment; serve as a central liaison to other departments (facilities, business, etc.) and academic divisions in the resolution of a variety of day-to-day matters.
Manage the Assistant Principal’s calendar and track key deadlines to maintain an efficient workflow.
Draft, edit, and distribute communications to families and coordinate production of the weekly Lower School newsletter, including content and formatting.
Track and manage divisional expenses, budget allocations, and expense reimbursement documentation alongside the Principal.
Monitor and reconcile credit card receipts, ensuring compliance and fiscal responsibility.
Coordinate substitute teachers and events for the Lower School, including field trips and bus reservations.
Manage digital display, highlighting student work and key events, aligned with community values

Education/Certification/Licensure
Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Preferred: A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
Experience
Required: 2 years of administrative experience; at least 1 year of which must be in a school
Preferred: 3 or more years of administrative experience.

Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic technology tools

Physical Abilities
Required:
Must be able to work at a computer for up to 8 hours each day in conjunction with OSHA requirements.
Must be able to teach in a classroom setting and use relevant instructional technology.
Must be able to move around the Milton Academy campus without restriction.
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
