Pay Rate: $1,900 – $1,980/Week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting, including medication administration, treatments, monitoring, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing program.
Current, active, and unencumbered Massachusetts LPN license.
Current BLS/CPR and AED certification.
Long-term care nursing knowledge and experience preferred.
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in resident condition.
Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to supervise nursing assistants and work effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous long-term care, skilled nursing, or nursing home experience.
Experience supervising nursing assistants or nursing support personnel.
Experience with medication administration, catheterization, tube feeding, suctioning, wound care, colostomy care, and specimen collection.
Experience caring for elderly or medically complex residents.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to residents according to established standards, policies, and procedures.
Supervise and direct nursing assistants.
Review resident charts, treatment orders, medication orders, dietary requirements, and care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered and verify resident identity before administration.
Perform nursing procedures including catheterization, tube feeding, suctioning, dressing changes, colostomy care, and specimen collection.
Monitor and document vital signs and changes in resident condition.
Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation and resident records.
Communicate resident condition changes and care needs to physicians and the healthcare team.
Provide health education and instructions to residents and families.
Ensure medications, equipment, and nursing supplies are adequately available.
Maintain resident confidentiality and protect PHI.
Uphold resident rights and maintain professional relationships with residents, families, physicians, staff, and visitors.
Participate in required facility inspections, surveys, and nursing programs.
Perform other nursing duties as assigned.
