What We Offer:
Provide licensed practical nursing care in support of cardiovascular physicians and medical staff
Deliver direct patient care while assisting with clinical operations in a cardiovascular clinic setting
Serve as a key point of support for patient coordination, documentation, and education
This position requires floating to clinics and positions within the Lafayette region as needed
Triage patients by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medication lists, allergies, and patient histories
Assess and communicate patient concerns and urgent findings to physicians and providers
Assist physicians during patient visits, complete orders, administer injections, and provide medication samples per protocol
Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, and assist with Coumadin clinic duties as needed
Respond to phone calls from patients, pharmacies, physician offices, and home health agencies
Maintain accurate and complete documentation in paper and electronic medical records (EMR)
Coordinate and schedule diagnostic testing and assist with patient flow across departments
Educate patients and families on diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, monitors, stress tests, and ultrasounds
Interrogate pacemakers and defibrillators and assist with pacemaker clinic operations
Assist with insurance pre-certifications, medical forms, and patient-related documentation
Support clinic operations through supply ordering and completion of required clinic checks
Provide coverage and assistance to other clinics or departments within the Lafayette region as needed
High school diploma with current Louisiana Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS certification preferred but not required
Experience in patient triage, clinical documentation, and direct patient care
Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical workflows
Ability to educate patients and families on procedures and care plans
Willingness and ability to float to multiple clinic locations and roles within the Lafayette region
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Collaborative, flexible, and patient-focused approach to care
