We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our cardiovascular practice. How You’ll Drive Our Mission Forward:
Triage patients and assess emergency cases, documenting medications, allergies, vital signs, complaints, and history in both paper and electronic medical records.
Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation, including patient wait times, chart notes, phone interactions, allergies, and medications.
Remain readily available to assist physicians/providers in exam rooms, review and complete orders, and follow through on procedures such as injections, test scheduling, and medication sample distribution.
Support patient care coordination through EMR messaging and collaboration with other departments.
Perform blood work (venipuncture and finger sticks), Coumadin clinic support, and pacemaker/defibrillator interrogation as needed.
Provide patient education, including explanations of diagnostic procedures (EKGs, Holters, stress tests, nuclear medicine, etc.), and assist with family communication as needed.
Respond to patient and pharmacy calls, coordinate with home health agencies and other providers, and manage prescription refills.
Complete medical forms such as home health requests, FMLA, disability statements, and doctor’s excuses.
Manage insurance flags and perform pre-certifications for testing when required.
Support supply ordering and complete mandated clinic safety checks, including crash cart, medication refrigerator, and drug closet inspections.
Provide cross-coverage to other CIS clinics and departments when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with the CIS mission and patient-first philosophy.
