POSITION SUMMARY
Wage: $24.30-$36.94
Full-time(0.9 Status) and Part-time(0.5 Status) positions available. 
This position delivers hemodialysis and provides nursing care for chronic hemodialysis patients in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, licensure, and scope of practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilizes the nursing process by providing care and documentation.
Administers medications within the scope of practice and provides dialysis treatment as ordered.
Monitors patients' conditions and reports changes to the appropriate personnel.
Explains dialysis procedures and operations of the hemodialysis machine to the patient when initiating treatment.
Operates and monitors dialysis reverse osmosis (RO) water system.
Assists in the completion of admission and ongoing patient assessment.
Receives, transcribes, and executes physician orders and communicates to others for continuity of care. Completes annual competency skill evaluation.
Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
Holds or is eligible for a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of South Dakota and may be required to apply for a Minnesota LPN license. Completes Dialysis Orientation program.

Required Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills are necessary. Must have basic knowledge of the proper use of dialysis machines. Must be able to competently perform all technical nursing skills within the framework of licenses and scope of practice. Must have the ability to deal tactfully with hospital personnel, patients, families, physicians, and the general public.
