SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Licensed Practical Nurse LPN will provide direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the direction of a registered nurse of provider. The LPN will observe report and record medical information and nursing care provided in the electronic medical record. The LPN will instruct patients and families according to the teaching plans. The LPN will communicate with the healthcare team to facilitate the coordination of individualized patient care.

Join our local Pediatric Specialties team over at Penn State Health Lancaster Pediatric Center Located across from Park City Mall the LPC team is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse LPN to join the team. This office handles a variety of specialties including but not limited to:

• GI • Nutrition • Allergy • Infectious Disease • Pulmonary • Hematology • Oncology • Rheumatology • Endo • Diabetes • Nephrology • Neurology • Orthopedics • Dermatology • ENT • Urology • Audiology

The schedule will largely operate from Monday to Friday from 730 a.m. to 530 p.m. and sees about 150-200 patients day.

The LPN will be responsible for rooming and intaking patients performing phlebotomy administering EKGs observing Holter monitors and assisting physicians with any minor in-house procedures. The LPN will also administer allergy shots to patients as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Currently licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate LPN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.

Basic Life Support BLS required prior to completion of orientation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One 1 year experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred
