Dayton VA Medical Center | Dayton, OH

Full Time | Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM | Federal Holidays Off

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to support the Primary Care team at the Dayton VA Medical Center. This is more than a nursing job. Every patient you care for is a Veteran who served our country, and you will be a vital part of the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) that keeps them healthy, supported, and heard.

What You Will Need

• Graduation from a practical nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of completion
• Current, full, and unrestricted Ohio LPN license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS required if assigned to a specialty clinic)
• Minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years

What You Will Do

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary Primary Care team
• Obtain patient and family histories, assist with assessments, and help plan appropriate nursing care
• Carry out provider orders and document all care accurately in the electronic health record
• Administer treatments and monitor and document patient responses to medications
• Educate patients and families on prescribed medications, therapies, and procedures
• Operate EKG machines, cardiac monitors, and other clinical equipment as needed
• Recognize emergencies and initiate appropriate lifesaving measures
