Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Medical Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide compassionate nursing care to our residents, under the direction of a physician or Registered Nurse.
Every day, you will assess resident needs and deliver essential physical or psychosocial care.
To be successful in this role, you will exhibit genuine compassion for patient well-being, an understanding of your critical role in ensuring their comfort, and the patience to explain procedures, answer questions, and maintain accurate documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Interviews patients and records their medical history
- Obtains and documents patient vital signs; reports abnormal findings promptly
- Administers and documents administration of treatments and medications within scope of practice; may administer oral, topical, and suppository medications; administer injections, infusions, and blood transfusions; start IVs
- Verifies that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately
- Observes and records patients' conditions and reactions to medications and treatments
- Serves as a liaison between physician and patient; shares information and reinforces education and instructions provided by the care provider
Job Requirements
Required
- Completion of an accredited LPN program
- Licensed Practical Nurse: ND
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
