Sign-On Bonus Details:
$12,500 available for LPNs with a minimum of one year of experience
$10,000 available for LPNs with less than one year of experience (includes GPNs
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care within the LPN scope of practice, UPMC policies, and Pennsylvania State Practice Act.
- Assess patient needs, contribute to care planning, implement treatments, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Communicate changes in patient condition and collaborate with RNs, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Administer treatments and perform clinical duties, including IV therapy, in accordance with LPN practice guidelines.
- Develop and maintain individualized plans of care that support patient-centered, holistic care.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly to promote continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, self-care, and discharge needs.
- Foster a positive patient experience through compassionate care and therapeutic relationships.
- Support quality, safety, and patient satisfaction initiatives while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and supporting new staff and team members.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and community partners to achieve desired outcomes.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and safe work environment.
- Participate in professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
- Perform all duties in accordance with UPMC competencies and behaviors.
- Complete other duties as assigned
- LPN experience preferred.
- IV therapy certification required within 4 months of hire/transfer (if not included in LPN education.
- Ability to provide age-appropriate care, collaborate with the healthcare team, and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, organizational, and computer skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet the physical demands of patient care.
Licensure, Certifications & Clearances
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS or CPR certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS required within 1 year of hire/transfer.
- Act 33, Act 34, and FBI (Act 73 Clearances
