LPN - Mobile Team

JOB SUMMARY

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on LRMCs Mobile Team, you will play a vital role in delivering primary medical care where it is needed most - whether on our mobile unit in a patients home or within our clinic setting. In this position, you will not only perform a variety of complex sub-professional nursing and administrative tasks but also adapt to the evolving demands of our community. You may be required to work independently at times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identifies symptoms of physical illness and disability of presenting patients through observation and analysis of the medical record. • Supervises and instructs paraprofessionals and nursing personnel in the treatment and/or care of patients and the maintenance of areas where patients are seen. • Reads checks patients vital signs - temperature, pulse, respiration rate, blood pressure, etc. • Administers medication, treatment, and immunizations as prescribed by Physician.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or North Carolina Board of Nursing, based on SC or NC residency. Familiarity with general office procedures, considerable knowledge of practical nursing practice and procedures, and graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing are required. One year of practical nursing experience, preferably in an ambulatory health care setting, is also preferred.

GRADUATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing and one year of practical nursing experience, preferably in an ambulatory health care setting, are required. Familiarity with general office procedures and observation of office protocol in performing routine duties are also essential.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Must possess considerable knowledge of practical nursing practice and procedures, general knowledge of human anatomy, and thorough knowledge of basic health and safety practices, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
