Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is a non-profit healthcare system serving 10 counties in northeastern South Dakota and west-central Minnesota.     This full-time(0.9 status or 36hrs per week) position is accountable for coordinating nursing care and maintaining standards of professional nursing. The LPN delegates patient care to support staff according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, and adequacy of resources. The MSP LPN may float to other nursing units to care for patients within their training and scope of practice.
    Wage: $24.30-$36.94
     
    Responsibilities include:
    • Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage, and various other nursing interventions
    • Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care
    • Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up along the continuum of care.
    • Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise.
    • Required to work 2 rotating holidays/year
    The MSP LPN will function within the Prairie Lakes Healthcare System Core Values of patient-centered care, respect, team focus, professionalism, and accountability. Keeping these Core Values at the center of their work, the LPN will provide leadership through mentoring new nursing staff and students, committee participation, quality improvement projects, and other informal leadership roles.

    Qualifications
    Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with the South Dakota State Board of Nursing.
    Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
    Both ACLS and PALS certifications will be obtained within one year of hire.
