Job Summary: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) specializing in pediatrics, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and high-quality healthcare to our young patients. You will work under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians to ensure the well-being and comfort of children from infancy through adolescence. Your responsibilities will include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Care:
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
    • Monitor and record vital signs, changes in condition, and progress of pediatric patients.
    • Assist in performing diagnostic tests and procedures.
    • Provide comfort, emotional support, and education to patients and their families.
  2. Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
    • Document nursing interventions and responses in a timely manner.
  3. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure a collaborative approach to care.
  4. Safety and Infection Control:
    • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe, clean environment for patients.
    • Implement safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Stay updated on the latest pediatric nursing practices and guidelines.
    • Attend training and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • Valid LPN license in state of practice with a specialization in pediatrics.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through AHA.
  • Two years previous experience in pediatric nursing within last 5yrs required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
