The Pentucket Regional School District is seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized medical support to a high school student-athlete. The primary responsibility of this position is to safely administer prescribed medication and monitor the students health status during athletic activities, practices, and related events in accordance with physician orders and district policies.
Qualifications
- Current valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience in pediatric school or sports medicine settings preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medication to the student-athlete in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Monitor the students condition before, during, and after athletic participation.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to medical concerns or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records, including documentation of medication administration and observations.
- Collaborate with the school nurse, athletic trainer (if applicable), coaches, and administration to support the students health and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all district policies, Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations, and applicable laws regarding medication administration in schools.
- Attend scheduled practices, games, and athletic events as required.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and appropriate school personnel regarding the students health status as appropriate.
Compensation
- $20.00 - $25.00 hourly rate of pay will be commensurate with level of education and licensure.
Position Type
- Part-time during the sports season.
Working Conditions
- Position requires attendance at after-school practices, games, and occasional weekend events.
- Work is performed in school and athletic settings, including outdoor environments.
- Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations and may require light physical activity.
- Approximately 10 hours per week from 4/6/26 - 5/25/26.
