Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – School Nurse

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM

Hours: 40 hours/week

Duration: Approximately 8.5 months

Required Qualifications:
\n

- Active Arizona LPN license
- \n
- Evidence of completion of a physical assessment skills course
- \n
- Eligible for Arizona School Nurse Certification
- \n
- Current CPR certification
- \n
- Ability to assess and treat children ages 4–22
- \n
- Strong planning, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- \n
- ASL skills if working with students/staff who are deaf or hard of hearing
- \n
- Braille skills if working with students who are blind/visually impaired
- \n

Preferred Qualifications:
\n
- \n
- 3 years of nursing experience preferred
- \n
- Pediatric nursing or urgent care nursing experience
- \n
- Experience working with children with disabilities
- \n
- Knowledge of physical assessment and sports/injury assessment
- \n
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other staff
- \n

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
\n
- \n
- Evaluate students' healthcare needs
- \n
- Maintain student medical and health records in compliance with state laws
- \n
- Administer medications and document dosage and adverse/untoward effects
- \n
- Educate students on personal hygiene and overall health
- \n
- Conduct routine health surveys and annual screenings
- \n
- Communicate student health status with parents
- \n
- Manage emergencies related to accidents and health conditions
- \n
- Communicate students' healthcare needs to instructional staff
- \n
- Take sign-language classes as needed to communicate with deaf students
- \n
- Use appropriate PPE as required
- \n

Ideal Candidate Profile:
\n
The strongest candidate would be an Arizona-licensed LPN with 3+ years of experience, preferably with pediatric, school nursing, urgent care, or special-needs experience, current CPR/BLS, physical assessment training, and eligibility for Arizona School Nurse Certification. Experience with ASL/deaf or hard-of-hearing students would be a significant advantage.
