LPN / Surgical Scrub Technician

Position Summary:

Operating room surgical technician is an integral member of the multidisciplinary surgical team.

The surgical technician acts as a scrub person, prepares and handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure. He/She has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/She works collaboratively with other team members to assure quality patient care during the operative procedure. The surgical technician functions under the supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the on-call schedule for after-hours urgent/ emergent surgical cases, unless otherwise indicated

Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate from surgical technician school.
• Licensed Practical Nurse
• Three to six months experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced experience of certification required for Certified Surgical Technician grade and step as outlined in the UFCW CBA.

Pay Range:

$28.58 - $37.78 per hour
