Location: Correctional Healthcare Facility
Schedule: Full-Time Contract | 40 Hours per Week
Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Schedule: 5x8s | Weekend & Holiday Rotation Required

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented nurse to join our correctional healthcare team. In this role, you will play a critical part in medication administration and medication management while providing safe, quality care in a secure healthcare environment.

What You'll Do

• Administer staff-controlled medications to patients within designated housing units.

• Pass Keep on Person (KOP) medications according to facility policies and procedures.

• Audit medication carts to ensure medications are organized, secured, and accurately accounted for.

• Coordinate medication transfers when patients move between housing units or buildings.

• Maintain accurate medication administration records (MARs) and nursing documentation.

• Follow all medication management, security, infection control, and patient safety protocols.

• Communicate effectively with physicians, registered nurses, pharmacists, correctional staff, and members of the healthcare team.

• Monitor patients for medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, and changes in condition.

• Perform additional nursing duties as assigned to support facility operations.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted LVN/LPN license in the state of practice.

• Experience with medication administration and medication management.

• Strong documentation and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently while following established policies and procedures.

• Comfortable working in a secure correctional healthcare environment.

• Willingness to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous correctional nursing experience.

• Experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, behavioral health, or skilled nursing.

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).

• Up to 40 hours per week

• 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM

• Weekend and holiday rotation required
