Interim HealthCare is seeking a compassionate, motivated Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide skilled home health physical therapy services throughout Newport News and the surrounding communities. Working under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you'll help patients regain strength, improve mobility, reduce pain, and achieve greater independence—all from the comfort of their homes.
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in home health or another post-acute care setting
- Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance

What You'll Do
- Provide skilled home health physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, balance, strength, endurance, and functional independence.
- Assist patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, orthopedic conditions, neurological disorders, and other medical diagnoses.
- Perform home visits while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care that supports rehabilitation and recovery.
- Observe patient progress, conduct assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Modify treatment interventions as directed to help patients achieve their established goals.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety techniques, fall prevention, mobility strategies, and self-care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary home health team.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with Medicare guidelines, Virginia regulations, and Interim HealthCare standards.
