Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to work at a facility in Elmira, NY. These are registry positions with our company.

Pay Rate: $50 / hour
*W2

Shift details:
  •  (40 hours a week) every other weekend evening shift (2:45pm-11:15pm)

Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year (12 months) of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • A valid and current LPN license issued by the state of NY
  • A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
  • Proficiency in the English language is necessary for communication with other staff and patients. LPN must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written English.

Duties:
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. Perform routine patient assessments and document findings accurately.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and maintain proper documentation of medication administration.
  • Regularly monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, and respiration rate.
  • Assist with wound care, dressings, and rehabilitation procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information, progress, and assessments using electronic medical records (EMR) or other designated systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, registered nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about healthcare procedures, medications, and post-treatment care instructions to promote effective self-management and recovery.
  • Follow established infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe disposal of medical waste.
  • Act swiftly and effectively during emergencies, implementing appropriate nursing intervention and alerting the appropriate personnel as necessary.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practices, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains compliance and complies with annual requirements
  • Successfully completes required employment-related documentation, testing, and screenings in a timely manner
