GENERAL SUMMARY
The Automotive Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, and light repair services in a fast-paced off-road and performance automotive environment. This position supports overall shop operations by completing preventative maintenance services accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality and safety standards.
The Automotive Lube Technician works closely with Service Advisors, Technicians, and Shop Leadership to ensure customer vehicles are properly maintained while contributing to a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, mechanical aptitude, and a customer-focused mindset.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Vehicle Maintenance & Service Operations
Perform routine vehicle maintenance including:
Oil and filter changesFluid inspections and refillsWiper replacementBulb and light replacementTire inspectionsBasic preventative maintenance services
Perform vehicle inspections and identify maintenance or repair needsAssist with alignments and basic suspension inspectionsDiagnose basic vehicle issues and communicate findings to senior technicians or service advisorsEnsure all work is completed accurately and efficiently according to company standards
Inspection & Repair Support
Inspect and test vehicles for required adjustments or service recommendationsAssist technicians with repairs and shop tasks as neededSupport vehicle diagnostics and repair processesAssist with motor vehicle inspections when requiredProvide labor and time estimates to Service Advisors as requested
Customer Service & Communication
Evaluate customer vehicle needs with professionalism and urgencyMaintain strong knowledge of company products, services, and shop capabilitiesCommunicate effectively with Service Advisors and team members regarding repair status and recommendationsSupport a positive customer experience through quality workmanship and professionalism
Shop Organization & Safety
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow OSHA regulations, shop safety procedures, and PPE requirementsProperly maintain tools, equipment, and workstationsAssist with shop upkeep and cleanliness throughout the workdayFollow all attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping standards
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED preferredPrior automotive shop or lube technician experience preferredExperience in automotive maintenance, off-road, or performance vehicle environments is a plusValid drivers license preferred
