We are currently seeking a dependable and safety-focused
Ludy Slitter Operator to join our manufacturing team in
Jeffersonville, Indiana. This is a
temp-to-hire opportunity for individuals looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Ludy slitter machine, inspecting veneer products for quality and specification compliance, maintaining production standards, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment. Training is available for motivated candidates with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Ludy slitter machine safely and efficiently.
- Inspect veneer products to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Read and interpret customer specifications and production requirements.
- Meet and maintain established production goals.
- Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
- Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
- Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety guidelines.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist with machine setup and adjustments as directed.
- Work effectively with supervisors and team members to support production goals.
QualificationsRequired
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Preferred
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing or factory experience.
- Previous machine operation experience.

Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing setting and may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment and machinery on a regular basis.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing throughout the shift.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform visual inspections, including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.
