    Shift: First shift; second-shift coverage and overtime may be required based on operational needs.

    Job Purpose:

    The Junior Maintenance Technician maintains the facility, building systems, and material-handling equipment in safe, reliable operating condition. Working independently or with limited supervision, this position performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs involving conveyor systems, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and electrical systems while following all health and safety requirements.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    The duties listed below describe the position's primary responsibilities but are not intended to be an exhaustive list. Additional related duties may be assigned based on operational needs.

    • Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, secure the affected area when necessary, and notify the appropriate personnel.
    • Follow all applicable safety procedures, use required personal protective equipment, and report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.
    • Inspect the building and its mechanical systems, identify deficiencies, and complete or coordinate repairs needed to maintain safe and compliant operating conditions.
    • Maintain A/C, heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
    • Inspect security and fire-protection alarm systems, document identified issues, and promptly coordinate required repairs.
    • Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment
    • Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on facility electrical systems within the technician's training and authorization.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot automation conveyor systems
    • Operate boom lifts and scissor lifts, when trained and authorized, to safely access elevated building systems and equipment.
    • Create, update, and close maintenance work orders in Eptura, and maintain accurate spare-parts inventory records.

    Note: Maintenance technicians are responsible for providing basic hand tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, socket sets, pliers, and a toolbox.

    Qualifications/Skills:

    • Good understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
    • Basic knowledge of electricity, hydraulic and other systems
    • Experience maintaining conveyor systems in an industrial, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
    • Electromechanical troubleshooting skills involving PLC controls, servo systems, sensors, and related control components.
    • Preferred: Practical experience connecting a maintenance computer to a PLC, navigating the PLC program to diagnose complex control failures, and making minor code changes under the direction of Engineering.
    • Certification in HVAC or building maintenance technology is a plus
    • Detail-oriented, with demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Follow instructions/directions with minor supervision
    • Self-motivated and able to take initiative while working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position and work overtime as operational needs require.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    Working Conditions

    The maintenance technician works in a non-climate-controlled warehouse where temperatures may range from cold to hot depending on the season. The position may be exposed to dust, noise, moving vehicles, elevated work areas, and moving mechanical parts. The technician is expected to work the assigned shift and related overtime. Seasonal business conditions may require work up to seven days per week, including holidays, based on customer needs.

    Physical Requirements

    The position requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, and pulling, as well as occasional bending and stooping. The employee must occasionally lift 30 to 50 pounds and infrequently lift up to 70 pounds.
