LVN Wellness Supervisor

Location: Burlingame, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Flexible Schedule & On-Call Responsibilities
Salary Range: $38.00–$48.00 per hour

Important: The ideal candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, participate in on-call responsibilities, and be able to arrive on-site within 30 minutes of being paged. CPR certification is required.

The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas is seeking a LVN Wellness Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day nursing care and support of Sister residents in our Burlingame community.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced LVN who is passionate about providing high-quality care to older adults while supporting a respectful, compassionate, and dignified environment. The Wellness Supervisor provides clinical oversight, supervises nursing staff, coordinates resident care, and works closely with families, physicians, community providers, and the Sister Life Minister to ensure residents receive coordinated and responsive care.

What You'll Do
  • Plan, organize, and direct day-to-day nursing care and support for Sister residents.

  • Provide clinical case management, including coordination of physician-directed care, restorative care, community services, and other resources.

  • Provide direct nursing care as needed.

  • Coordinate with the Sister Life Minister, families, friends, physicians, and community providers to support a comprehensive approach to resident care.

  • Monitor resident care to ensure individuals are treated with fairness, kindness, dignity, and respect.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of clinical contacts and services provided.

  • Supervise nursing staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, staff evaluations, payroll, and addressing staff concerns.

  • Oversee the development of nursing schedules to ensure appropriate staffing and coverage.

  • Monitor staff compliance with policies, procedures, safety regulations, and established community guidelines.

  • Participate in quality improvement activities by collecting and analyzing information and implementing improvements.

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, and care conferences.

  • Respond calmly and appropriately to emergency situations.

  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality and protect sensitive resident information.

  • Collaborate respectfully with the care team and assist with tasks as needed.

  • Participate in on-call responsibilities.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with older adults.

  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.

  • CPR certification.

  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule and participate in on-call responsibilities.

  • Ability to arrive on-site within 30 minutes of being paged.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to establish priorities.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of community resources and associated service costs.

  • Experience navigating health systems and community agency systems.

  • Experience coordinating services for older adults.

  • Familiarity with the traditions and culture associated with the Sisters of Mercy and Catholic Church.

  • Strong self-motivation and demonstrated initiative.
