The Boise Pediatrics Specialty clinic is now hiring for a personable and efficient Medical Assistant!

Position Summary & Highlights

  • This MA position will work 1:1 with our Board Certified Pediatric GI Physician but will also work with other MAs and providers as well in a wonderful care team environment.

  • Please make sure you meet the Minimum Requirements below before applying.

  • CNA work experience does not qualify applicants for the MA position. See Minimum Requirements below for details.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform rooming, collect patient medical history, and take vitals.

  • You will also complete in-basket management, prior authorizations, and surgery scheduling.

  • Administer immunizations, perform phlebotomy and may assist with occasional minor procedures.

  • Pediatrics is a unique specialty in that not only is the child the patient, but their parents are also typically present at the clinic visit.

An ideal candidate will have or be:

  • Previous experience working in a Pediatrics or family practice clinic and enjoys working with children and parents.

  • Highly organized, compassionate, energetic and thrives in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.

  • This position requires the ability to prioritize competing demands while providing outstanding patient care and customer service.

Work Schedule:

  • 36 hours per week, 4- 9 hour shifts, during the work week, Mondays - Fridays, rotating day off.

  • Around the hours of 7:45am - 5:30pm.

  • Clinic start and end times can vary based on providers schedule and staffing needs.

  • 1072 N Liberty St., Ste 203, Boise, ID 83704 (Mulvaney bldg.)

  • Located on the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center campus.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.

  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

  • National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)

  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

  • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)

  • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

  • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)

  • New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.

  • Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

  • *EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details.
