    Description

    Reports To: HVAC Supervisor

    Pay Grade: A04

    Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

    Duty Days: 260 Days

    Qualifications:

    High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

    Possess a valid Texas Operator's License

    Possess knowledge and skill required to operate and maintain equipment associated with HVAC

    Have such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find acceptable and appropriate

    Must possess minimum EPA certification I and II (Universal certification preferred)

    Texas State Contractors License Type B (Preferred) or ability to obtain Texas State Contractors License Type B

    Physically able to lift 50 pounds

    Ability to comprehend verbal and written English

    Primary Purpose:

    Maintain district wide HVAC equipment in order to provide a quality building environment for students, staff and community.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance as requested on approved work order.
    • Practice all safety regulations related to trade.
    • Recommend supplies and equipment for purchases.
    • Report any safety hazards in a building.
    • Maintain an inventory of supplies.
    • Examine district-owned facilities on a regular basis for preventive maintenance.
    • Respond to emergency repairs immediately and report problems to HVAC Supervisor.
    • Required to work night.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Equipment Used:

    Computer, meters, gauges, ladders, hoists, hand and power tools, light truck or van.

    Working Conditions:

    Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent district wide travel.
