Job Purpose:
The MA Therapist - Reg Intern at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing therapeutic services to clients under supervision, assisting in the development and implementation of treatment plans, and supporting clients in achieving their mental health goals. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality mental health care and contributing to the overall mission of enhancing the well-being of individuals and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed therapist. • Assist in the assessment and diagnosis of clients mental health conditions. • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to clients specific needs and goals. • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and treatment plans. • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care for clients. • Participate in case consultations and supervision meetings to enhance clinical skills. • Stay informed of best practices and new developments in the field of mental health therapy. • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed. • Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all client interactions.
Required Education:
Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Required Experience:
• Completion of a recognized internship program in a mental health setting. • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with mental health disorders. • Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices. • Experience in conducting individual and group therapy sessions.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of mental health assessment and treatment planning. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines. • Proficiency in using electronic health records and other relevant software. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry standards and practices.
