This is a newly created position.
This position serves as MAASE's primary sales representative for an assigned territory, working directly with school district leaders, intermediate school districts, educational organizations, and strategic partners to understand their needs and connect them with MAASE's services, expertise, and solutions.
The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation through implementation, renewal, and account growth. Success in this role is built on consultative selling, trusted relationships, and a deep understanding of the challenges facing educational leaders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Territory Sales & Business Development
- Manage the full sales cycle for an assigned K through 12 territory, from lead generation and prospecting through contract execution, onboarding, and ongoing account management.
- Develop and execute a territory sales plan to meet or exceed quarterly and annual membership and revenue targets.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective consulting clients and program participants.
- Identify opportunities to expand MAASE's services within existing member districts and develop new organizational relationships.
- Meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) established by MAASE leadership.
- Embrace a consultative sales approach and effectively navigate the sales process from qualification through closed business.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with district administrators, special education directors, curriculum leaders, principals, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop a deep understanding of district priorities, challenges, and goals to recommend appropriate MAASE solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by identifying opportunities for districts to engage with MAASE through consulting, professional learning, MITTIN, Paraeducator Bootcamp, Developing Inclusive Leaders, and other organizational offerings.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing members and customers to encourage renewals, expanded engagement, and long-term partnerships.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales and implementation process.
Presentations & Consultative Sales
- Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations at state and national conferences, to school boards, district leadership teams, and educator groups both virtually and in person.
- Conduct discovery meetings and needs assessments to understand organizational priorities.
- Prepare proposals, pricing information, contracts, and implementation recommendations.
- Navigate district budget cycles, procurement processes, and RFP requirements to position MAASE's services successfully.
- Confidently present MAASE's value proposition while addressing questions and overcoming objections.
Collaboration & Organizational Support
- Collaborate closely with marketing, member services, consultants, and program staff to coordinate outreach and ensure a smooth transition from sale to implementation.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support new program development and organizational growth.
- Represent MAASE at conferences, trade shows, regional education meetings, and networking events to generate leads and strengthen organizational visibility.
- Participate in staff meetings, strategic planning, professional development, and organizational initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Sales Operations & Market Intelligence
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospects, opportunities, customer interactions, and sales activities within the organization's CRM.
- Provide regular pipeline, forecasting, and activity reports to leadership.
- Stay current on K-12 education trends, state education policy, funding opportunities, and competitor offerings to inform sales strategy.
- Continuously evaluate territory performance and recommend strategies for growth and increased market penetration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Two or more years of experience in outside sales, business development, account management, or consultative sales.
- Demonstrated success managing a full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution.
- Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed sales goals, quotas, and performance metrics.
- Experience conducting consultative sales conversations and identifying customer needs.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and standard sales productivity tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage an assigned territory independently.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work successfully in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a distributed team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel throughout an assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
