Position Information

Winthrop Position Title Macfeat Lab School Administrative Support Job Purpose

The Macfeat Early Childhood Laboratory School offers preschool and kindergarten classrooms and after school child care for children ages three to five. Macfeat also serves as a research site. Throughout the school year, faculty members, graduate,and undergraduate students from various university departments spend time in Macfeat observing, participating, and interacting positively with the children. The Administrative Support position provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the lab school by assisting with organization, resource management, communications, and day-to-day program needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide administrative support for daily lab school operations

Assist with inventory management, ordering, and organization of supplies and materials

Maintain and organize classroom and program resources

Support documentation, filing, and record-keeping processes

Assist with preparation and maintenance of bulletin boards and displays

Support communication efforts, including social media updates and program materials

Help coordinate and organize program events and activities

Assist with snack preparation and help maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, as needed

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the lab school

Qualifications

Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions

Ability to produce professional looking documents and presentations

Make mature judgments and present self in professional manner in person and on the phone

Flexibility to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously

Ability to exercise confidentiality with sensitive information

Self-starter with ability to complete extended projects with minimal supervision

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience working with the public in a professional setting
