Title: Machine Builder
Location: Lincolnshire, IL
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Shift : 1st
Compensation: $28-34/hrly

Overview:
 We are seeking an experienced Machine Builder to assemble, build, and troubleshoot custom machinery from prints and schematics. This role requires strong mechanical skills, hands-on assembly experience, and the ability to operate manual machining equipment, including Bridgeport mills, to support build and fit-up activities. 

Job Duties: 

 

  • Assemble custom machines, subassemblies, and mechanical systems from engineering drawings
  • Perform mechanical fit-up, alignment, and troubleshooting during machine builds
  • Operate Bridgeport mills to machine, modify, and rework components as needed
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve build issues
  • Support machine testing, debugging, and final adjustments

Qualifications: 

 

  • 3+ years of experience as a Machine Builder or Mechanical Assembler
  • Hands-on experience operating Bridgeport mills (required)
  • Strong mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience working with custom or special-purpose machinery preferred
  • Basic machining and fabrication skills a plus
