    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Machine Builder / Installation Technician
    Position Summary
    We are seeking experienced Machine Builders / Installation Technicians to support a machine teardown, transportation, and reinstallation project. This role will begin at our Quality Drive facility in Holland, MI, where technicians will participate in equipment teardown and preparation activities for approximately the first two weeks. Following teardown, technicians will travel to a customer site in Iowa to complete equipment installation, assembly, and startup support for approximately the final two weeks of the project.
    Travel-related expenses for the Iowa portion of the project will be paid.
    Project Schedule
    Holland, MI (Teardown Phase)
    Duration: Approximately first 2 weeks
    Schedule: Monday-Friday
    Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00/4:30 PM
    Iowa Customer Site (Installation Phase)
    Travel timeframe: Between August 17th or 24th through project completion
    Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed
    Hours: Typically 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-14 hour shifts)
    No Sunday work anticipated
    Key Responsibilities
    Perform teardown, assembly, and installation of equipment according to mechanical and assembly drawings.
    Reassemble machinery and equipment at the customer site while maintaining quality and safety standards.
    Document and communicate changes, issues, and improvement opportunities throughout the project.
    Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with the Machine Build Lead.
    Support project objectives related to cost, quality, timing, and customer satisfaction.
    Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
    Assist with material preparation and secondary processes such as deburring, finishing, and heat treating.
    Execute work in compliance with ISO quality standards.
    Communicate project progress, concerns, and open issues to the Machine Build Lead.
    Required Qualifications
    Previous machine assembly and mechanical build experience is required.
    Ability to read and interpret mechanical part and assembly drawings.
    Strong mechanical aptitude with a commitment to safety and quality.
    Basic computer skills.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and accessing equipment from above and below.
    Must provide own hand tools and toolbox suitable for machine assembly work.
    Must have:
    General hand tools
    Power drill
    Impact drill
    Metatarsal safety boots
    Preferred Qualifications
    OSHA training and/or certifications for:
    Forklift operation
    Scissor lift / aerial platform operation
    Bridge crane operation
    Vocational or technical training related to manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or industrial maintenance.
    Equipment & Machinery Experience
    Experience safely operating the following equipment is preferred:
    Mill
    Lathe
    Drill Press
    Surface Grinder
    Saws
    Shears
    Presses
    Additional Requirements
    Must be eligible to obtain training and certifications for:
    Forklift (Hi-Lo)
    Aerial Platform
    Overhead Crane
    Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    Ability to travel as required for customer installations and projects.
    High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    Related vocational or technical education preferred.
