Machine Design Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
• Proficiency with SolidWorks including part modeling, assemblies, configurations, and production drawings
• Experience designing custom machinery, automation equipment, or industrial tooling
• Familiarity with reverse engineering existing equipment and creating manufacturing drawings
• Proficiency with DraftSight or AutoCAD for technical drafting
• Working knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly processes
• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and resolving design issues
• Experience modernizing legacy designs and engineering documentation repeatedly preferred

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
• Convert legacy 2D drawings into detailed 3D SolidWorks models and production documentation
• Design and modify tooling, fixtures, and machine components following established standards
• Support the design and improvement of custom industrial machinery and automation equipment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the design, build, and testing phases
