Position: Machine/Grinder Operator
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a mechanically inclined and detail-oriented Machine/Grinder Operator to join a precision-focused manufacturing team in Rochester, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity provides the chance to develop long-term career opportunities while gaining hands-on experience in machining and grinding operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality. Operators will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining grinding equipment while ensuring parts meet strict specifications and production standards.

Pay Rate:

• $18.00 - $20.00/Hour (Based On Experience)
  • + $1.00 Shift Diff.

Shift(s):

• B Shift: 3 PM - 1:30 AM | Monday -Thursday (4 day work week)

• B Shift: 2 PM - 10:30 PM | Monday -Friday (5 day work week)

Job Duties:

• Set up, operate, and monitor grinding machines and precision manufacturing equipment
• Load and unload materials while maintaining proper workflow throughout production
• Inspect and measure parts using gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools
• Verify parts meet required specifications and maintain tight tolerances
• Follow established work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards
• Perform routine machine adjustments, maintenance, and minor troubleshooting
• Record production data and complete quality documentation accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Support continuous improvement efforts and collaborate with team members to achieve production goals
• Identify and communicate equipment, quality, or process concerns to leadership

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous manufacturing, machining, grinding, or machine operation experience preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
• Basic math skills and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and safety-focused mindset

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent reaching, bending, and movement around machinery
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while maintaining productivity and quality standards
