Job Title: Machine Operator/Grinder Operator
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Join our precision-focused manufacturing team as a Machine Operator/ Grinder Operator, where you'll set up, operate, and maintain grinding machines and related equipment to produce high-quality metal components. This hands-on, temp-to-perm position is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety and quality. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth production flow, maintaining tight tolerances, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

Shift(s):

• A Shift; 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Sunday - Thursday OR Tuesday - Saturday
• B Shift; 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Pay:

• $18.00 – $20.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and monitor grinding machines and other precision equipment.
• Inspect, measure, and verify parts using gauges, micrometers, and calipers to maintain exact tolerances.
• Follow standard work procedures and ensure all safety protocols are met.
• Load and unload materials; maintain material flow throughout the grinding process.
• Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and minor repairs on grinding machinery.
• Record production data and maintain accurate quality documentation.
• Keep work area organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or grinding/machining environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision measuring tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable, safety-minded, and able to work well both independently and in a team environment.
