We are seeking a hands-on AI Engineer Contractor to design, prototype, build, deploy, and support AI-powered enterprise solutions that improve business outcomes and engineering productivity. This role spans the full solution lifecycle-from architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and operational support-with Generative AI capabilities applied where they provide measurable value.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design and develop Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, intelligent agents, and enterprise data.
• Integrate AI models and platforms with APIs, business applications, data sources, and enterprise knowledge systems.
• Transform promising prototypes into scalable, reliable, and production-ready solutions.
• Apply security, evaluation, observability, governance, and Responsible AI practices throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business, architecture, engineering, data, security, and platform teams.
• Support CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production operations.
• Use tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini Code Assist to accelerate delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Enterprise application engineering experience across architecture, integration, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, intelligent agents, or comparable Generative AI solutions.
• Proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience with cloud or AI platforms such as GCP, Vertex AI, Gemini, Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenAI.
• Familiarity with APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, vector databases, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and monitoring.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $55-$60 per hour. The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
