Role - AI Engineer – Agentic AI / Generative AILocation: Pleasanton, CA (Remote – PST Required)

Position Overview- Client is seeking experienced AI Engineers to design, build, optimize, and scale next-generation AI agents and agentic workflows that support critical business functions, including planning, allocation, forecasting, pricing, and operational execution.
- This role is part of a growing AI initiative focused on developing and deploying AI-powered agents to automate workflows, improve productivity, enhance decision-making, and drive measurable business outcomes.
- The ideal candidate is a hands-on AI/Software Engineer with experience building and operationalizing Agentic AI solutions, Large Language Model (LLM) applications, and Generative AI workflows in production environments.
- This position is focused less on traditional machine learning model development and more on the engineering, integration, optimization, deployment, and operationalization of AI agents.
- Experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Google Agent Development Kit (ADK) is highly desirable.
- Engineers will be assigned business use cases and will own the design, development, implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of AI-driven solutions across multiple business domains.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize AI agents and agentic workflows supporting enterprise business processes.
- Build scalable AI solutions that automate workflows, improve operational efficiency, and support business decision-making.
- Integrate LLMs, Generative AI services, AI SDKs, and APIs into production applications.
- Develop backend services, integrations, and AI-driven applications primarily using Python.
- Build and maintain agent orchestration workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Google ADK.
- Leverage GCP cloud services and BigQuery to support AI workloads and data-driven applications.
- Work with structured and unstructured data to enable AI-powered business solutions.
- Optimize AI agents for performance, reliability, token utilization, latency, and cost efficiency.
- Support the deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of AI-powered applications.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product teams, and technical teams to understand business challenges and translate them into practical AI solutions.
- Develop maintainable, scalable, and production-ready AI applications across multiple business functions.
- Contribute to AI engineering best practices, automation, deployment processes, and operational excellence.
Required / Must-Have Qualifications- Strong hands-on Python development experience.
- Proven experience building, deploying, or supporting AI Agents and Agentic AI workflows.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI technologies.
- Experience with AI SDKs/APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar platforms.
- Strong experience integrating REST APIs and/or other external services into AI-driven applications.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native services.
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery or similar cloud data platforms.
- Experience working with unstructured data.
- Understanding of AI agent optimization, deployment, monitoring, and production operations.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including application design, debugging, testing, and maintainability.
Preferred Qualifications- Degree or professional background in AI Engineering, Software Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Google Agent Development Kit (ADK).
- Experience deploying containerized applications using Docker.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and deployment automation.
- Experience working in multi-cloud environments, with GCP preferred and Azure exposure a plus.
- Experience with SQL and/or R.
- Experience in retail, supply chain, merchandising, planning, forecasting, pricing, or allocation is a strong plus.
