TempExperts is seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician to join a busy masonry manufacturing operation in Tampa, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industrial mechanic who enjoys working with machinery, troubleshooting problems, and keeping production moving.

What You’ll Be Doing
This is an industrial machinery maintenance position, not a facilities or building maintenance role. You will help keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently by diagnosing problems, performing repairs, completing preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial production machinery and specialized manufacturing equipment.
  • Install, adjust, align, and repair production equipment and mechanical components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, hydraulic equipment, motors, mechanical drives, bearings, controls, and other production machinery.
  • Inspect malfunctioning machinery to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or operational problems and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Replace worn or defective parts, including motors, belts, bearings, electrical components, controls, wiring, and other machine components.
  • Dismantle and reassemble machinery to access defective or worn components using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, adjustments, and inspections to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Install and test equipment and electrical components and verify proper operation.
  • Use hand and power tools to repair, modify, cut, weld, and fabricate components as needed.
  • Weld and use a cutting torch for equipment repair and fabrication.
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisor and Head Mechanic to diagnose equipment problems, determine repair requirements, and prioritize repairs.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and production-related maintenance issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance area.
  • Follow all required safety procedures.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of recent hands-on industrial or manufacturing machinery maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing production machinery or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, motors, conveyors, and electrical components.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Welding and cutting torch experience preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, machinery maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field is preferred.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to lift and handle tools, machinery parts, and other materials weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, push, pull, stoop, reach, climb, and work in various positions as required for machinery repair.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a masonry manufacturing environment with noise, dust, dirt, heat, and other industrial conditions.
  • Ability to safely work around heavy industrial machinery and moving production equipment.
  • Ability to work overnight hours and maintain weekend flexibility.
