Machine Operator – ProductionTaunton, MA$19.00 per hour depending on experience The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting production equipment used in the manufacturing and packaging of food products. This role ensures that production runs efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Machine Operator
Set up, operate, and monitor production and packaging equipment according to established procedures.
Perform equipment adjustments to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
Conduct routine inspections of machinery during operation.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions, product defects, and safety concerns.
Complete minor troubleshooting and corrective actions as needed.
Maintain accurate production records, downtime logs, and quality documentation.
Verify product specifications, weights, labels, and packaging standards.
Follow all Food Safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and OSHA regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
Assist with product changeovers and machine setup between production runs.
Work closely with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Production teams to achieve operational goals.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and productivity targets.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications of the Machine Operator
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Ability to read and understand production documents and work instructions.
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to use measuring devices and perform basic math calculations.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to work in a refrigerated, wet, or temperature-controlled environment.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Working Conditions
Fast-paced food production environment.
Exposure to moving machinery, production equipment, and varying temperatures.
Required use of PPE, including hairnets, beard nets, gloves, safety glasses, and other protective equipment.
