JOB DESCRIPTION
UFP Industries is seeking a dependable and hardworking Machine Operator I to join our Thornton, CA manufacturing team. This is a hands-on production position responsible for safely operating production machinery, maintaining materials and supplies, inspecting finished products, and keeping production moving efficiently.
The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and willing to learn and operate production equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up the work area and prepare equipment for production.
- Operate and feed production machinery safely and efficiently.
- Secure and maintain the materials and supplies needed for production.
- Complete pre-shift and equipment inspection checklists.
- Monitor equipment and report any problems or concerns.
- Stack completed products according to established procedures.
- Cover, label, band, package, and stage finished products as required.
- Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production records.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, continuous improvement programs, and other team activities.
- Perform additional production duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 6 months of manufacturing and/or assembly experience preferred/required.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working around production machinery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
