Hunter offers $25.00 as the starting rate with opportunities for advancement in level and pay. There is some mandatory overtime. This position is for our 2nd shift (3:30pm-12am, Monday-Friday)
As a Machine Operator, you will support the NC Operator by delivering and loading parts. They will maintain quality, setup, check parts to match print information and safety standards, and maintain equipment and supplies.
What You’ll Do:
- Observes and follows all safety rules
- Manually set tools and punches as specified by setup sheets, measure parts according to prints
- Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction
- Support the NC Operator by delivering and loading parts into the machines
- Load and unload machine with overhead lifts if needed
- Read blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances and tooling instructions
- Must work cohesively with NC operators, maintenance, and others
- Safe operation of forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, cranes or other moving equipment
- Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment
- May train other machine operators
- Inspect your own parts and be responsible for keeping machine and area clean
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED is required, and some mechanical work experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to be trained to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks
- Knowledge of material handling and working with loading parts into machine
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers
- Ability to read prints, calipers, degree finders, and scales
