Machine Operator (3rd Shift)
Job Description Summary
Dauch is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Operator for our 3rd shift operation at our GKN Bowling Green facility. This role involves operating and monitoring machinery to produce high-quality driveline components, ensuring production efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
Job Description:
- Operate various production machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Load and unload materials and parts from machines.
- Monitor machine operation, identify and report any malfunctions or irregularities.
- Conduct in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets.
- Identify and suggest improvements to production processes for increased efficiency and quality.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills and Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Ability to work consistently on a 3rd shift schedule (typically 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM or similar).
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
