Machine Operator (7am - 3pm)

Position Overview

This position requires a self-motivated individual willing to work safely in a team-based system. They need to have the ability to schedule their work, prioritize their workload, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. A desire for continuous improvement and quality workmanship are required to meet our customers increasing demands. Overtime including weekends may be available.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and follow all related safety policies and programs
• Accurately report time, production, and material usage
• Set up the machine, including preparing materials and retrieving paper from storage
• Enter job and production information into the computer, including measurements
• Report irregularities, maintenance needs, and quality issues to the Team Operations Manager
• Assist the crew with running, changing over, starting up, and cleaning up the machine
• Check raw materials on hand to prevent shortages during production runs
• Use a ruler to verify material dimensions for quality assurance
• Troubleshoot machine issues and recommend process improvements
• Keep the work area clean and organized
• Perform other job tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous machine operator experience required
• Experience in slitting, coating, or printing preferred
• Good human relations skills
• Strong verbal communication skills
