Job Title: Machine Operator 1st Shift
Location: Archdale, NC 27263
Pay rate: $17.00 - $18.00/hour
Work Schedule: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Monday – Thursday) with possible OT on Friday

Overview

A Machine Operator in Archdale, NC is needed for a 1st shift opportunity working with various metal fabrication machines, primarily operating a waterjet. This non-exempt hourly position involves obtaining parts per BOM/drawings, setting up and programming CNC laser cutting machines, operating various shop machinery, and conducting quality audits on fabricated orders.


Job Specifications
**Fabrication/Metal Shop Machine Experience:** Required.

Top Required & Preferred Skills:
* Fabrication machine experience required (waterjet primary function).
* Ability to set up, program, and operate CNC laser cutting machines (Salvagnini laser experience preferred).
* Machinery experience desired: Milling Machine (Bridgeport), Waterjet, Various Saws (band, horizontal), Brake press, Drill press.
* Experience using 2D waterjet software to create or modify drawings on a computer.
* Ability to use a variety of hand, electric, and pneumatic tools, as well as measuring instruments.
* Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting drawings, BOMs, and written work instructions in English.
* Required math and geometry skills, computer skills, and mechanical inclination.
* Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and sense of urgency.


Day-in-the-Life Responsibilities:
* Obtain parts for orders per BOM/Drawing.
* Use waterjet software to create new or modify 2D computer drawings.
* Assemble or fabricate orders per drawing using correct parts, tools, and specifications.
* Set up and run various presses, sanders, saws, and related shop equipment.
* Perform quality checks and audit work at specified points in the operation per standard work/quality instructions.
* Maintain high levels of quality, safety, and efficiency.


Physical & General Requirements:
* Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
* Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted and additional weight with assistance.
* Willingness to wear company-provided uniforms.
* Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
* Evaluated on attendance and performance records.
* Screenings: First Advantage Package / Supplier-run Drug Screen required.
