Machine Operator Assistant (3rd Shift)

Job Summary:

• The Machine Operator Assistant supports the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment by assisting machine operators with machine setup, material handling, quality inspections, and housekeeping.
• This position plays an important role in maintaining production schedules while ensuring product quality and workplace safety.

• Assist the machine operator with machine setup, changeovers, and production runs.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished products.
• Monitor product quality and report defects or equipment issues to the operator.
• Perform basic quality inspections using measuring devices and visual inspection.
• Remove scrap and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Package, label, stack, and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
• Support preventative maintenance activities as directed.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Work with team members to meet production goals and minimize downtime.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Manufacturing or machine operating experience preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to read work orders and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Manufacturing or corrugated packaging experience.
• Forklift experience (or willingness to become certified).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good attendance and reliability.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Push, pull, bend, twist, and reach throughout the shift.
• Ability to work around moving machinery and industrial equipment.
• Willingness to work overtime and various shifts as needed.
