Machine Operator

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Daily Duties)

• Sets up and adjusts cutting machines for scheduled orders
• Safe and efficient operation of the production process, including start-up, adjustment of cutting presses to proper parameters involving close tolerances
• Maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning of the equipment
• Provide training and assistance to lesser-skilled personnel.
• Notifies supervisor of any significant incidents/delays/equipment malfunction/ poor quality raw material.
• Strips/loads roll onto the machine using a forklift/clamp truck.
• Determines die layout to ensure minimum waste of paper.
• Inspects and measures products for conformance to specifications.
• May train in other areas to provide coverage
• Other duties as assigned/required.

Minimum Competencies

• Typically possess 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong communications skills
• Ability to complete training, pass the forklift certification test, and demonstrate the ability to operate a forklift.
• Experience in setting up mechanical equipment required.
• Ability to read and use a ruler/scale
