Job Title: Machine Operator
Location:  Columbus NE 68601
Pay Rate: $22.70/hr on W2
Duration: 12 + Month Contract (Possible extension)
Schedule: 6pm-6am on a rotating shift

 
Position Summary:
 
Responsible for operating equipment in the department safely and producing quality products per documentation. Perform quality checks, changeovers, SAP data entries, and basic troubleshooting. Ensure compliance with quality systems, policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as all local, state, and federal safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Willing and able to uphold company values.
 
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work as one of a team for maximum effectiveness and optimal task methods, which includes product inspection, operating equipment, raw material and finished goods movements, and clean room area and equipment cleaning/sanitizing.
  • Perform visual inspections.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Perform changeovers, line clearance, and cleaning.
  • Achieve production rate and quality goals on assigned equipment.
  • Facilitate continuous operation of the equipment through breaks.
  • Perform rework.
  • Cross-train where needed within the department to support the business.
  • Maintain all quality and GMP standards.
  • Perform needed SAP data entries.
  • May require the use of 10x microscope, calipers, and/or other miscellaneous gauges.
  • Participate on blitz teams as assigned.
  • Achieve established production goals.
  • Ensure the quality of all products produced.
  • Perform quality checks as designated.
  • Function effectively as part of a team.
  • Process SAP and MES transactions for the department.
  • Assist in identifying root causes.
  • Maintain compliance with all required document training.
  • Operate lines in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Drive department results by reducing downtime and completing tasks efficiently.
  • Maximize efficient time usage in the department.
  • Perform other duties as required to support business needs.
 
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
 
Experience
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with MES preferred.
  • Previous experience with precision measuring instruments preferred.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Work effectively independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work area.
  • Willingness and ability to train others.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail.
